Dr Kate Kavanagh-Patel is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who works at St George Private and Public Hospitals. She completed her medical degree at the University of New South Wales, graduating with first class honours and undertook her training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at St George Public Hospital. This included a fellowship year in Gynaecological surgery working with eminent Gynaecological Oncology and Laparoscopic surgeons.
In addition to Kate’s position as a Staff Specialist at St George Public Hospital she is also a RANZCOG Training Supervisor for their trainees and a Conjoint lecturer and examiner for the University of New South Wales. These appointments give her an opportunity to service the local community and be heavily involved in the teaching of our future doctors at a medical student, junior doctor and specialty trainee level. Kate’s relaxed and friendly nature make her popular throughout the hospital with both staff and students alike.
Kate is currently consulting out of St George Private Hospital and will begin consulting in Penshurst from July 2018. She is seeing patients with a wide range of gynaecological problems including menstrual disorders, contraception, abnormal bleeding, ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids, pelvic pain and endometriosis, abnormal PAP smear/cervical screening results, prolapse, infertility and miscarriage.
Kate is also a busy wife, and mum to a gorgeous little boy and will add private obstetric practice to the mix in 2019.
